Gudrun,

owner of the "B&B Farniente" (as well as your local tour guide and language coach)

living and working between Occitania and Provence since 1988.

A human & cool holiday experience in the "Camargue"

Whether you're looking for a relaxing holiday, an adventurous holiday, an active holiday or a language break, my B&B FARNIENTE in Aigues-Mortes offers good value for money to the curious traveller with "reasonable" comfort requirements and a keen interest in the country and its people.

My small, charming, typical town house (built in 1900) with a shady courtyard is situated close to the centre and in a quiet location, just opposite the medieval walls of Aigues-Mortes. It has 3 double bedrooms (one with an extra bed for a third person), each with its own shower and WC.

Authenticity, comfort and, of course, a warm, personalised welcome, just as you would expect from a traditional French chambre d'hôte (because staying in a chambre d'hôte means "immersing yourself in the world of a private owner to get to know the country, local culture and population better"). A good curiosity about the destination is therefore welcome.

The many attractions and special features of Aigues-Mortes and the surrounding Camargue make my region an exceptionally fascinating destination... at any time of year, even in winter (let's face it)!

Take advantage of my ideal location between the Mediterranean beaches and the traditional hinterland and benefit from my good insider tips ... as well as (as an option) my guided discovery excursions away from mass tourism, through beautiful landscapes, authentic traditional villages and private land ... to immerse yourself in the unique local culture of the Camargue!

For foreign guests with some knowledge of French, this is even an excellent opportunity to update their vocabulary and overcome their linguistic inhibitions at the same time... all in an entertaining and informal way, right in the heart of the action,... during breakfast with the other house guests (mostly French from all regions) or during one of my guided exploration excursions... as a welcome side effect ;-) !
